I want to be sure get enough Vitamin C but I don’t like to drink orange juice because of the acid. What other foods can I eat instead?

Many people suffer from heartburn or reflux after eating or drinking acidic foods like orange juice. We still need to get adequate vitamin c every day to help keep our immune system strong, to make collagen and to help tissue growth. It is also an antioxidant. The recommended daily value is 60 mg.

There are several other foods that contain the Vitamin C we need which may be easier to tolerate.

Here is a list:

  • Guava
  • Red, green and yellow peppers
  • Papaya
  • Pineapple
  • Kiwifruit
  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage
  • Cauliflower
  • Cantaloupe
  • Strawberries
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Kale

Eating a variety of foods throughout the day, including at least five servings of fruits and vegetables, will help you get the essential nutrients your body needs. Adding a rainbow to your plate will also give you not only a visually appealing meal but a host of nutrients from fruits and vegetables!
